Fidya Donations for Missed Fasts

During Ramadan, fasting is an obligation for all able-bodied Muslims. However, if you are unable to fast due to illness, pregnancy, or other valid reasons, and cannot make up the fast later, Fidya is a charitable compensation that fulfills this duty.

What is Fidya?

Fidya is a required donation given to feed the less fortunate when you cannot fast during Ramadan and are unable to make up those fasts. This act ensures that those in need are supported while you fulfill your religious obligation.

How much is Fidya?

The amount for Fidya is calculated based on the cost of feeding one person two meals for each missed fast. For Ramadan 2026, the recommended Fidya donation is $12 per day

Who Needs to Pay Fidya?

You must pay Fidya if you are:
Elderly
Elderly and physically unable to fast.
Chronic Illness
Chronically ill with no expectation of recovery
Pregnancy, Nursing, and Health Considerations
Pregnant or nursing with valid concerns about your health or the baby’s well-being

Fulfill Your Obligation with Droplets of Mercy

Your Fidya donation will provide essential food support to families in need, ensuring they have nutritious meals during Ramadan and beyond.
By giving your Fidya through Droplets of Mercy, you are not only fulfilling your religious duty but also helping vulnerable communities thrive.

Make Your Fidya Count Today

Don’t delay in giving your Fidya. Act now to provide vital nourishment to those in need.
